Who are we?
Our purpose
SeeOnSea builds bridges between science, territories, citizens and tourists to improve knowledge and protection of biodiversity.
A story born at sea
When you are at sea, in the mountains or surrounded by nature, you hope to see animals and plants, and you think how wonderful it would be to have the opportunity to learn about and understand biodiversity. This is how the idea emerged, aboard a sailing boat at sea, to make scientific knowledge available to the general public by using digital technologies and the huge existing network of web platforms and applications. SeeOnSea was created from this observation in 2021 by two engineers, Laurent and Daniel, passionate about nature and digital technology.

From the idea to the ecosystem
- 2021 – Creation of SeeOnSea
- 2022 – Innovation Award in tourism TravelcampSud
- Creation of our first tool: SeeOnSeaVIEW for our first Tourist Offices
- SeeOnSea becomes SeeOnSea Terre&Mer by extending the system to terrestrial species
- Creation of SeeOnSeaPACK for our first scientific collaborations
- 2023 – SeeOnSea becomes a Mission company
- Creation of SeeOnSeaAPI for connected port applications
- Extension of SeeOnSeaVIEW to Communities of Municipalities, Urban Communities and Metropolitan Areas
- Extension of SeeOnSeaVIEW to partners of Tourist Offices and Communities of Municipalities
Today, SeeOnSea consists of a network of stakeholders committed to biodiversity: Tourist Offices, Communities of Municipalities and Urban Communities, Municipalities, Ports, Associations, Accommodation providers, Tourist sites, Outdoor activity providers, Companies and, of course, Scientific institutions.
What we are building

Data can be an observation, an event, an alert, advice or a prevention message, a regulation, a mission, a study, … but always presented in an accessible way.
Two engineers, one shared conviction

Our ambition
To circulate knowledge about biodiversity so that it becomes a universal force for action.
